Passing the time

3 hrs and counting.  The weather has finally moved in and the mountains are obscured by a thick fog.   There is a steady drizzle accompanied by a strong wind, and if I were to guess, I would say the temps have dropped 20-30 degrees.  Now is when I should say something about how these experiences are all about the journey and what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.  Instead of going down that road though, Wolfe and I have been attending to much more important duties (See photos).

Action shot!

Oh Yeah!

Wolfe might already be sponsored, as he had the tattoos, but I am happy to show my support!

Big Dipper.  Even though we are on this wild trip in the Alps, I hope you don't judge us for all of the Gelato we have eaten.  You know we are coming home to you!

Two and a half hours now.  Time to rest.  See everyone on the other side.

  1. Hell yeah Foote. Glad to find the blog and see the great pics of you and Wolfe gallavanting before the race. As I write you both are about 7 hours in and in great positions. Keep up the good work. I'm going to try to get some sleep and then will spend the rest of tomorrow sneaking onto computers to check the updates. Have fun out there!

  2. Mike - You are currently rocking it and about 30 min. from the finish line. F-yeah!! I'm definitely not getting any PhD work done today...the excitement of irunfar.com updates is too much :)

  3. Foote - Amazing day. I look forward to hearing about it some day on a run in the "park". I'm super impressed. Pass on congratulations to Wolfe on what must have been a brutal day. It looks like he went for it, left it all out there and still held on to a respectable finish when the wheels could have fallen off. Hope you both recover well.
